— This year’s Golden Globes ceremony will look a lot different. On Tuesday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the event will have no live audience, no red carpet, and no media presence. The 79th annual Golden Globe Awards are set to take palace this Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The award show will also not air on NBC this year. The network cut ties with the award show for its lack of representation last year.

— Seth Meyers is the latest member of the NBC late night comedy team to test positive for COVID. Meyers revealed his diagnosis on Twitter. However, he said he feels good and he gave a shout-out to the coronavirus vaccines and booster. This week’s shows of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” are now canceled as a result of the positive test.

— There’s a new way fans can honor Betty White on what would have been her 100th birthday. Simply pick a local animal shelter and donate five-dollars on January 17th. The TV icon was an animal lover known for her charitable work and even wrote two books about her devotion. She was the last surviving star of the “Golden Girls” until last Friday when she passed away in her sleep. The Betty White Challenge is making its rounds on social media inviting fans to “make her 100th birthday the movement she deserves.”

— The man Britney Spears was married to for less than three days in 2004 is facing aggravated stalking charges. Jason Alexander found himself in legal trouble last week after getting arrested in Tennessee for violating an order of protection. A spokesperson for the Franklin Police Department didn’t identify the victim, but noted Alexander has a hearing scheduled for February 17th. According to Us Weekly, the 40-year-old’s bond is set at 30-thousand-dollars. Back in 2004, Spears and Alexander unexpectedly said their vows following a New Year’s trip to Las Vegas. The marriage lasted 55 hours before the pair ultimately had their union annulled.

— ‘Jeopardy!’ champion and Oakland resident Amy Schneider is revealing on Twitter she was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday. Schneider tweeted on Monday, “I’m fine” but claims the robbers took her phone, credit cards and ID also adding that she “couldn’t really sleep last night.” Schneider has gained recent recognition for winning 24 games on ‘Jeopardy!’, placing fourth highest among all contestants and being the first transgender woman to become champion. No arrests had been made as of yesterday.

— Michael Keaton is opening up about his decision to leave his role as Batman. Speaking on the “In the envelope” podcast, he said he clashed with Joel Schumacher over the direction of “Batman Forever.” He said he was drawn to the role because of Bruce Wayne, not his superhero counterpart. While he said he won’t speak ill of Schumacher because he’s dead, Keaton admitted the two never saw eye to eye.

— Jon Stewart is accusing Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling of anti-Semitic tropes within the franchise. On a recent episode of The Problem With Jon Stewart, he drew a comparison between the depiction of goblins and Jewish people. He noted he’s surprised she didn’t face as much backlash for the move. Rowling has however faced harsh criticism for her stance on LGBTQ+ rights and more specifically trans rights.

— Adele is reportedly buying Sylvester Stallone’s Los Angeles Mansion, and she didn’t go easy on him when it came to negotiating a price. As TMZ notes, the sale is currently in escrow and the singer’s winning offer was 58-million dollars. While that is definitely still a lot of money, a real estate source told the outlet it’s “an outright steal.” The actor originally put the sprawling three-point-six-acre estate on the market back in February for 110 million dollars.
