Films and TV shows coming this month

The Journalist (January 13)

Based on the feature film of the same name, The Journalist is a new Japanese TV series about exposing mass corruption. It follows a newspaper reporter who works to uncover a political crime scandal – but tension builds when the government seeks to silence her.

After Life season 3 (January 14)

Back for a final season, the series, which is set in the small fictitious town of Tambury, follows Tony, a writer for the local newspaper whose life is upended after his wife dies from cancer. Though the plot might give you the wrong idea, this feel-good series makes you appreciate all the little things in life.

Anabelle Comes Home (January 17)

Good news horror fans as one of the more recent instalments in the Conjuring franchise is coming to Netflix.

It follows the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a teenager and a friend who unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in a doll. If you aren’t scared of dolls now, you might be after watching this.

Too Hot to Handle season 3 (January 19)

Reality dating game shows have become the new thing. The winner of American-British Too Hot to Handle wins the grand prize of $100,000.

What makes this show so different from others? It is hosted by a virtual assistant named Laura. It follows ten adults who are engaged in flings. But they are not able to form a relationship that is long-lasting. The contestants live in a house together for four weeks, but aren’t allowed to kiss or engage in any sexual contact.

The Royal Treatment (January 20)

This upcoming American romance film focuses on New York hairdresser Izzy as she seizes the chance to work at the wedding of a charming prince, then sparks fly between them, putting love and duty to the test.

This time the Byrde family deal with the explosive events of the previous season finale and try to get rid of the Ozarks and its criminal underworld in which Marty and Wendy have become involved.

The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window (January 28)

This might be the strangest title we’ve come across. Starring Kristen Bell as Anna, she watches the world go by from her living room window. Heartbroken, she sets her sights on a handsome new neighbour until she witnesses a gruesome murder.
