If you’re a Yellowstone fan, you’ll agree that enough is simply never enough.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, the American neo-western premiered back in 2018 and showcased such talents as Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, and more delivering incredible performances.
It has been such a thrill following the conflicts along the shared borders of a large cattle ranch, a Native reservation, and land developers. However, audiences have now discovered that they’re able to not only move forwards but backwards too.
It’s always exciting to see how a prequel will compliment a series that viewers have grown to love. However, it’s arguably more intriguing to see how it sculpts its very own legacy.
With fascination through the roof, it’s worth asking how many episodes of 1883 there are on the way…
How many episodes of 1883 are there?
Although not confirmed just yet, 1883 is likely to be made up of 10 episodes in total.
While the first season of Yellowstone gave audiences just nine episodes, the previous three seasons have boasted 10 each.
With that pattern in mind, it’s likely that the creators have worked out a rhythm, learning how to sculpt the perfect amount of drama across 10 installments. If so, then the finale should reach us by mid-February 2022.
That’s because it’s scheduled to begin premiering on Paramount+ on Sunday, December 19th and the first episode will also air on the Paramount Network directly after Yellowstone season 4 episode 8.
As for what to expect, it will follow the Dutton family as they set out on a journey west to the last bastion of untamed America, tackling themes of family and perseverance.

Going on an adventure
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are playing a married couple, which is particularly alluring considering they’re married in real life.
The pair tied the knot in 1996 and while in conversation with Parade they shed some light on how thrilled they are for the opportunity.
“We were in bed last night and talked for two hours because we got so caught up in the moment that we almost couldn’t even remember it,” Tim explained. “I told her, ‘This is incredible. How many married couples ever get a chance to do what we’re doing right now?’”
1883 is created by Taylor Sheridan and the couple revealed that their passion for his work and a potential collaboration began when they watched his film Wind River. They couldn’t wait to find out more about the creative talent at the helm.
When the opportunity of 1883 presented itself, they felt compelled to “go on this adventure together.’”
1883 premieres on Sunday, December 19th 2021 on Paramount+.
