It has been six years since The Expanse was released, and it is still running successfully on Amazon Prime Video. The show is a science fiction series and stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham, Dominique Tipper, Paulo Costanzo, Florence Faivre, Keo Alexander, and Nadine Nicole few.

Next week, its fans will have to bid goodbye as the show will be coming to its end. Episode 6 of the sixth season will serve as the show’s final episode. Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus developed the Expanse. It is an adaptation of the novel series written by James S. A. Corey. The series is futuristic and shows us a time where humans have successfully invaded the solar system.

The show has received praise, especially for its narrative, visuals, and character development. As a result, Amazon renewed The Expanse for its sixth season in November 2020. The sixth season premiered in December 2021.

Why is There No Season 7 of The Expanse?

In November 2020, Amazon Studios announced that The Expanse Season 6 would be the show’s finale season. Unfortunately, this means that The Expanse is coming to an end with its sixth season.

James S.A. Corey, the writer of The Expanse book series, still has enough material for the show to continue, but the decision was still made. Amazon Studios has given no reason behind the cancellation of the show. It is still somehow believed that the reason behind this can be the high budget which had to be put for making the show.
